We used Nelson to do a lot of work on are home we purchased to bring it up to date and with in code.All the work we had done in the House to placing the Garage on its on power panel,they did Great Work very pleased.But if you are thinking of installing a Power Generator "DO" your research before hand.Im sure this is not just a Nelson Electric issue,but with any company you go with that does Generator Installs.I knew up front that the Bid for the work was not going to include having the generator hooked up to the Gas Line.This is where you are going to Run into Issues.Nelson had no idea who does that kind of work so you have to find your own contractor,The guys that drive around in the green Trucks,well we used them at are Old House,and they left us with a slow Gas Leak on a new Water Heater,that was putting Gas into our home for Three weeks.They placed Blame on every one except the Their Guy that did not tighten the Gas Line into the Water Heater,or have it sealed. DO NOT GO WITH THEM.Finally found a Qualified Contractor with Golden Rule,They showed up next day and said this will be a easy install but needed to check a couple things.Long Story Short are eight foot easy line from meter to generator,Went from under a $1000 to $3800.With a Furnace,Stove,Hot Water Heater all being Gas we do not have enough gas coming into are house to run those and the generator at the same time,So ALL the Gas line we JUST had installed for a New Furnace,Water Heater Stove had to be redone.We also had to add a Regulator onto the Furnace,Stove,Hot Water Heater in order for them to work properly once there is enough Gas coming in.For over a Month Golden Rule,Myself,My Wife have been in contact with Alliant.Out of the 13 calls to customer service and getting some one will be in contact with in two days,after each phone conversation,Filed Paper Work asking for an up grade to are service.Still no response back from Alliant.So I now have a $15000 useless paper weight sitting on the side of my house that can not be used.So from ALL THE UNITS they have put in I would think they would have an idea that your HOME may not be up to standards to have a generator,Because IF that information was relayed to us from the Start I really do not think we would have went ahead with the install.So if you are thinking Generator CALL a qualified plumber first,and get their take UP FRONT the cost to bring your Gas Service up to Code.If that Sticker cost don't scare you off,and you decide to go forward then,YES Nelsons is the one to go with their work is Far above everyone else's in the Area.But before that Go On Line fill out the request for service up grade from Alliant,Then start going to Church Daily and Prey to God they will come around to do the Work with in a year,And do not forget to Ask for a call back as well.Golden Rule did a Great Job and it was pricey but considering all the work they had to redo they were the best choice.
